Breakfast On The Go - Overnight Oats

Fit To Go With Molly

If you haven't tried overnight oats yet, you are going to love this! They are the answer to a quick, easy breakfast or any meal/snack that’s nutritiously well rounded, and satisfying! Using mason jars make it convenient to store in the fridge and ready when you need a quick meal.

The possibilities are endless as to how creative you can make these.

The best part is, you probably already have most ingredients in your fridge and pantry ready to go. You can enjoy these oats cold and raw or heat them up in the micro for 30 seconds to a minute. Either way, the integrity of the oats deliver great texture and not the gummy texture of cooked oats. And if you want, these little jars make a great post workout meal too, delivering great protein, fiber and omega 3’s! What’s not to love?

Here is what you need-

Small - med size mason jars

1/4 cup Oats – old fashion or steel-cut

1 Tbsp. Hemp or Chia seeds or flax meal

1/4 – 1/2 cup Almond or Coconut milk

1-2 Tbsp Greek yogurt (optional)

Layer or mix ingredients in a jar and add any of the following ingredients to make it your own. Store in the fridge overnight and it's good to go in the morning. I personally like to eat these cold.

Nut butter of your choice

Fruit- chopped apples, peaches, pineapple, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, kiwi, melon and the list goes on.

Unsweetened Coconut

Cinnamon

Cocoa powder

Honey, or Pure Maple Syrup,

Shredded carrot

Chopped Nuts – Walnuts, Pecans, Almonds, Cashews

Let me know how this recipe goes for you and share your own creative concoctions!

Here’s to your health!
